Executive Positions
President
Sets the Agenda for 11 monthly Subdivision meetings, primary liaison between DIT Subdivision and the President & Board of AMA Victoria and AMA Victoria Secretariat, delegate to annual AMA National Conference, attends AMA Victoria Council and acts as spokesperson for DIT subdivision at various engagements and with media. They also act as a liaison with the representatives of portfolios and the facilitation of portfolio activities with AMA Victoria and external bodies.
Meets: The second Wednesday of each month excluding January.

Supports the DIT President and assumes the DIT President's functions as required.

AMA Victoria Council, DiT Representative
Holds DIT member voting rights for AMA Victoria Board and President, has power to move Resolutions and vote on behalf of DIT Subdivision. Currently represents DIT on the Council Agenda Committee (council elected position) with responsibility for setting the Agenda of AMA Council meetings.

Federal AMA Council of DiTs (AMACDT), AMA Victoria Representative
Assists Federal AMA to set Policy and effectively lobby on issues as varied as workforce management, Learned College & Medical School activities and Federal Government agendas effecting DiTs. Ensures Victorian DIT interests are represented at the National level and potentially enables participation on Federal AMA or Federal Government Committees (including involvement as Federal delegate to annual AMA National Conference).
Meets: Quarterly over a weekend, twice in Canberra and in two other Capitals plus teleconferences as required.

Communications Representative
The Communications Representative will be responsible for the dissemination of DiT-related information. This will include maintaining linkages with the DiT Subdivision and Residents’ Societies/HMO managers; liaising with the AMAV media office; overseeing the DiT pages of the AMAV website and the DiT facebook page; and coordinating the production of DiT-related VicDoc/DiT Update articles and other publications.

Portfolios
In each portfolio area, there will be an unrestricted number of project officers working with the respective portfolio representatives. Project officers can self-select according to their interest area and will not be required to stand for election. Project officers can choose to coordinate individual projects, or to assist others in doing so.
Education & Professional Development Representative
Core Area of Activity: Education and training
The Education & Professional Development Representative will provide oversight and act as the primary liaison for issues relating to education, training and professional development for the DIT subdivision and AMAV Secretariat. This individual will work closely with the DIT subdivision executive, the Policy & Public Affairs unit, the Education and Training unit and with external agencies (e.g. Postgraduate Medical Council Victoria) to oversee and coordinate activities relating to education and training, including representation (e.g. with PMCV/VPMF) and development of education activities (E.g. Mythbusters, Careers Seminars etc).

Industrial Relations Representative
Core Area of Activity: Industrial Relations and EBA compliance
The Industrial Relations Representative will act as the primary liaison regarding industrial issues between the DIT Subdivision and AMAV Secretariat. They will work closely with the DIT subdivision executive, AMAV Workplace & Advocacy unit and the IR Subcommittee to ensure appropriate representation for DiTs within wider AMA IR activities, particularly relating to Enterprise Bargaining and agreement compliance. They will also be responsible, where appropriate, for the coordination of project officers within the industrial relations portfolio and to ensure representation to internal and external bodies is facilitated.
Meets: IR Subcommittee meetings alternate between Tuesday mornings and evenings.

International Medical Graduate Representative
Core Area of Activity: Issues pertinent to IMGs
The International Medical Graduate Representative will provide oversight and act as primary liaison for issues relating to international medical graduates for the DiT Subdivision and AMAV Secretariat. This individual will work closely with the DiT Subdivision executive, the Policy and Public Affairs Unit and with external agencies to oversee and coordinate activities relating to international medical graduates. It will incorporate being a representative on the Victorian Medical Postgraduate Foundation Executive Committee that meets bi-monthly.

Public Health & Community Projects Representative
Core Area of Activity: External Community Projects
The Public Health and Community Affairs & Projects Representative will provide oversight and act as primary liaison for DiT subdivision and AMAV Secretariat regarding community projects and public health policy. This individual will work closely with the DiT subdivision executive and AMAV secretariat to oversee coordination and connection with specific projects being run by project officers, including Volunteers on Call, Teddy Bear Hospital, Global Health lecture series and other newly developed projects. The position will also involve development of public health policy where appropriate.

Professional Support & Welfare Representative
Core Area of Activity: Health and welfare issues pertinent to DiTs
The Professional Support & Welfare Representative will provide oversight and act as primary liaison for issues relating to professional support and welfare for junior doctors for the DiT subdivision and AMAV Secretariat. This individual will work closely with the DiT subdivision executive, the Policy & Public Affairs Unit and with external organisations (e.g. VDHP) to oversee and coordinate activities both within and external to the work environment, including policy and program development and representation to external bodies.

Social Events Representative
Core Area of Activity: DiT social activities
The Social Events Portfolio will be responsible for overseeing the planning and coordination of DiT social functions, including the DiT Ball and the intern welcome functions. They will be required to work closely with the AMAV Membership and Marketing unit.

Post Graduate Medical Council (PMCV) Representative/ Victorian Medical Post Graduate Foundation (VMPF) Alternate
A position ideal for Interns and HMO-2s seeking to ensure AMA’s voice is heard on issues faced by PGY1 & PGY2 DiTs such as accreditation standards, core curriculum framework implementation and training consortia.
Meets: Bi-monthly. Attendance also required at the Confederation of PMC's annual National Pre Vocational Conference (held Interstate over 4 days) and PMCV's annual planning committee day. VMPF meets once per year.
