Doctors welcome new beds

AMA Victoria welcomes the State Government’s announcement today to open 46 extra hospital beds at the new Royal Children’s Hospital.
AMA Victoria President, Dr Doug Travis, said extra beds are welcome to improve the health care of Victorians.
“We are particularly pleased about the increase in intensive care beds in the hospital,” Dr Travis said.
“Children are the most vulnerable members of our communities and they deserve the very best in health care.
“We know that the doctors and staff are excited about getting a new hospital, as are the people of Victoria.”
