Smoke in cars stinks (The Age, letter to the editor)
10 November 2007
The State Government has an important role to play in regulating cigarette smoke (The Age, 9/ 11) and needs to protect children from harmful toxins and ban smoking in cars when a child is present. We have legislated to protect workers, diners and drinkers from the risks of smoking in confined spaces. It makes sense to extend this ban to protect children travelling in cars. South Australia introduced the ban in May and it is time Victoria followed its lead.
