Individual hospitals data: What the Your Hospitals Report doesn't say
03 October 2008
The latest Your Hospitals report reveals more Victorians are missing out on clinically appropriate care than ever before.
More than 363,000 Victorians did not receive access to medical care within clinically appropriate timeframes — an increase of 43,000 people, or more than 11 per cent.
However, year by year comparisms for each hospital do not appear in the report, so it's hard to tell just how much pressure individual hospitals are under. Nurses and doctors are doing a great job under enormous pressure, but the capacity problems in our hospitals are increasing clinical risk.
While the Government will not provide the figures, AMA Victoria will. The attached spreadsheet provide data culled from the Your Hospitals reports, without the spin.
