Remember to drive safely this ANZAC Day weekend
24 April 2008
AMA Victoria has called for motorists to take care this long weekend.
Dr Doug Travis, President of AMA Victoria, said that motorists planning a long drive should stay off the grog the night before and get a good night’s sleep.
“Take regular breaks, slow down and make sure you are not affected by drink, drugs or fatigue,” Dr Travis said.
“Doctors have a dream for long weekends,” Dr Travis said, “that they will be able to sit in emergency rooms with nothing to do, rather than respond to road trauma.
“If motorists take care, have concern for other road users, and be patient, hopefully we all can make an emergency doctor happy this weekend.”
