Doctors welcome new Parliamentary Secretary for Health

AMA Victoria today welcomed the appointment of Ms Janice Munt as Victoria’s new Parliamentary Secretary for Health.
Dr Stephen Parnis, AMA Victoria Vice President, said the timing of Ms Munt’s appointment was particularly important, given Victoria’s role in the forthcoming Commonwealth health reform process.
“With state and federal elections this year and health reform promised by the Federal Government, health will be an important issue for Victorians this year,” he said. “We have to make the most of the opportunity to reform our health system and build on what works.
“I look forward to speaking with Ms Munt about the Victorian Government’s role in encouraging innovation and reform in our health system.”
Ms Munt has been the Member for Mordialloc since 2002.
