AMA Victoria's response to the ALP's YouTube attack on ophthalmologists
We at AMA Victoria are most concerned that that the Australian Labor Party has produced an ill-informed video attacking the profession — view the YouTube clip here.
We have now produced a response. This response notes the deleterious effect of the Government’s decision to cut the Medicare rebate for cataract surgery on the public hospital system.
This video response has been posted on www.amavic.com.au, emailed to media outlets and other commentators. We have also posted it as a video response to the ALP's video, although we are not expecting the ALP to approve the video response appearing on their page.
AMA will continue to fight to have this decision reversed. You may also care to write to your MP. We will create a space on our website in relation to this campaign containing material that will help you to contribute to the lobbying campaign.
