Forums offer chance for comment on Victorian health plan

On May 3 the Minister for Health released the Victorian Health Priorities Framework (VHPF), together with the Metropolitan Health Plan and a supporting Metropolitan Technical Paper. The release of these documents is the first milestone in a comprehensive planning process that will deliver long-term plans to shape and improve the entire health system.

Now that the VHPF has been released, the Minister is engaging with the health sector through a series of state-wide open forums. These forums enable Victorians to ask questions about the VHPF’s contents and provide feedback to the Minister for Health. Three metropolitan forums have been held, and five regional forums will occur throughout July:

Bendigo: 10.00am, Friday 8 July

Ballarat: 10.00am, Thursday 14 July

Colac: 10.30am, Wednesday 20 July

Wangaratta: 10.30am, Thursday 21 July

Traralgon: 10.00am, Wednesday 27 July

For venue and RSVP details, please visit www.health.vic.gov.au/healthplan2022.

The Department of Health advise that feedback from these sessions will also be incorporated into the Rural and Regional Health Plan 2012 and the Health Capital and Resources Plan 2012, which will be released by the end of 2011.
