Alternative options to the Award conditions are Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBAs), or Australian Workplace Agreements (AWAs). The terms of an EBA take precedence over an Award, and the terms of AWA take precedence over an EBA. To be valid an EBA has to be certified by the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC); and an AWA has to be registered with the Workplace Authority.
