Staff Wages
Transitional rates of pay for modern awards
These rates of pay are compiled on the basis of the transition provisions contained within the Award at Clause 2 and Schedule A. The Awards used in the calculations are the former Nurses (Victorian Medical Centres and Clinics) Award 2000, and the former Health & Allied Services - Private Sector - Victoria Consolidated Award 1998 and HSU (Health Professional Services - Private Sector Victoria) Award 2004.
Practices need to ensure that proper transitional payments are made according to the Fair Work Ombudsman guidelines contained here.
These transitional rates (between the modern award and pre modern awards) will continue to be phased in over five years. The first phasing occurred on 1 July 2010 and the last 1 July 2014.
