AMA VICTORIA MEMBERSHIP GUIDE 11 10 AMA VICTORIA Members can engage with the AMA Victoria Careers team in a number of ways: » Career Call — Members can book a 15 minute phone consultation with one of our experienced career coaches, as regularly required, to discuss any career challenges or opportunities. » Career Coaching — 1 hour career coaching consultations are available for a reduced fee to AMA Victoria members for more detailed support. Career coaching includes career planning and assessment of career pathway options; career decision making and transition support both within and outside of medicine; support to develop career tools and professional skills such as resume and cover letter, interview skills, networking and professional brand development and support with the use of social media and LinkedIn. » Career articles and resources — all available on the AMA Victoria website. AMA Victoria has also developed a number of services particularly designed to support the professional development and needs of more senior doctors: » Professional Career Coaching and Leadership Coaching Programs — Our team comprises qualified executive and leadership coaches with international accreditation. AMA Victoria members can access 6–12 month professional career coaching and leadership coaching programs for a reduced cost designed to support doctors in developing and achieving their career and leadership goals. » Retiring Well Coaching Programs — AMA Victoria offers a range of retirement coaching solutions to senior members who would like to begin planning for retirement. The coaching programs help members decide when to retire and how to plan for the transition. These programs can be accessed for AMAVictoria members at a substantially reduced fee. Students AMAVictoria’s career consultants and community for young doctors offers professional development, networking, social events and career resources. AMA Victoria collaborates with the Medical Students Council of Victoria and the medical student societies to empower you with information on medicine as a career including the medical system, your career journey and what pathway options are available. AMAVictoria very actively supports students in their final year through the Medical Careers Expo and through providing education on the intern application process and the transition from student to intern.
