The TAC has circulated updated information and FAQs regarding the planned changes to public hospital funding arrangements for TAC patients due to commence from 1 July 2026.

Under the new model, TAC funding for services delivered in Victorian public hospitals will move to a bundled payment paid to health services rather than individual practitioners.

AMA Victoria has raised concerns regarding implementation at hospital level, including transparency of funding flows, consistency of clinician remuneration arrangements, and safeguards to ensure doctors are not worse off financially under the new model, particularly given the importance of maintaining clinician participation in trauma and complex care.

Members may wish to review the attached TAC resources for further detail. Any questions or issues members wish AMA Victoria to raise with TAC can be directed to Lewis Horton at [email protected].
