Position overview:

Western Family Medical Centre has an opportunity for a General Practitioner to join an established multidisciplinary team in Cairnlea Victoria. We are a family friendly practice that has a supportive working environment with a diverse workplace culture. You will be supported by our qualified practice nurses and staff to ensure your transition to our practice is a smooth process. Facilities include secure on-site Parking and your own consulting room.

We are a progressive bulk-billing practice that is eager to expand. With our convenient location, flexible and supportive working environment, registered nurse (nurse immuniser) support, with on- site Pathology, Podiatrist, Physiotherapist, Diabetic Educator and Dietitian. Opportunities for growth and excellent renumeration are offered, for a GP on a full-time basis.

We have been operating since 2000 and have expanded our premises during this time. The practice consists of 5 doctors supported by 2 Practice Nurses and 5 receptionists. 70% of Billings with practice support and on-going education. We are a district of workforce shortage and currently MMM 1

Immediate start

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct patient consultations to diagnose, treat and prevent physical and mental disorders.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and x-ray results

  • Prescribe medications and administer treatments as per RACGP Clinical Guidelines

  • Refer patients to specialist medical practitioners and coordinate on-going care

  • Maintain accurate medical records and comply with all privacy and medical regulations

Required skills and experience

  • Qualifications:  Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) registrable with the Medical Board of Australia

  • Registration:  Current or eligible for General, Provisional, or Specialist registration with AHPRA

  • Experience:  Minimum of 3 years’ post qualification experience in general practice or primary care

  • Fellowship:  FRACGP or FACRRM is highly desirable (required for VR GP status)

  • Attributes:  Strong interpersonal skills, clinical autonomy, and commitment to high-quality patient outcomes

Renumeration

  • Annual Salary Non-VR $200,000.00, VR $250,000.00 per annum

  • Billing percentage 60%-70% of billings with a guaranteed minimum hourly rate for the first 3 months
