AMA Victoria Election of Office Bearers 2014 – 15
On Tuesday night AMA Victoria held its Annual Election Meeting and Annual General Meeting. We are pleased to announce Dr Tony Bartone as newly elected President of AMA Victoria.
Dr Tony Bartone MBBS FRACGP MBA, graduated in 1984 from Melbourne University. He commenced in private general practice in 1986 eventually setting up his general practice in Keilor Downs in 1987. He later operated an extended hours multi disciplinary general practice in Moonee Ponds from 1993 till 2001. After completing an MBA (Melbourne Business School) he then worked as a National Manager for Mayne Medical Centre for three years ultimately returning to family medical practice in Niddrie and Lalor. He was Chair of the Section of GP from 2009 to 2013 and is also a member of the AMACGP (AMA Council of General Practice) Executive.
Dr Gary Speck was elected as Vice-President and office bearers elected for 2014 – 15 were Dr Robyn Langham, Dr Bernadette Wilks, Dr Mark Yates and Dr Xavier Yu.
Board Members elected in 2013-14 for a two year term and continuing are Dr Robert Conyers (Treasurer), Dr Roderick McRae (Chairman of Council) and Directors: Dr Lorraine Baker, Dr Michael Levick and Dr Leon Massage.
Congratulations to Dr Tony Bartone and the new elected and re-elected Board Members.
We acknowledge the passion and dedication of outgoing President Dr Stephen Parnis, and also outgoing Board Member Dr Tim Ross. They have both been pivotal members of the AMA Victoria Board and we wish them both well in their future endeavours.
