AMA Victoria seeks better quality service from AHPRA

As a result of recent calls from members, AMA Victoria sent a letter to AHPRA to convey doctors’ concerns about the organisation. In particular, the recent complaints have drawn attention to the poor standard of written communications sent to medical specialists regarding the Specialists Register.

AMA Victoria’s letter to CEO, Mr Martin Fletcher, points out that AHPRA’s forms contain basic spelling and grammatical errors and reveal that the records it holds are, in some instances, worryingly inaccurate.

We have emphasised that doctors should not be expected to fix what appear to be basic computer errors and that, in light of the fees charged by AHPRA, doctors are entitled to better quality service. AHPRA has responded and said they will investigate these errors.
