Practical leadership for today's senior doctors: immediate implementation, lasting impact. Your solution to leadership challenges - applied learning you can use now.
Overview of the program
The Middle Leader program is a professional development course for senior doctors, consultant level and above. The program aims to build leadership capability and knowledge, supporting participants to find their own leadership voice and style, and to lead with confidence in complex collaborative environments.
As a Middle Medical Leader, reporting to senior staff, managing junior doctors, and collaborating with peers are significant responsibilities that bring unique challenges. In a middle leadership role, you also may be considering the next phase of your career, and what leadership opportunities you may aspire to and find fulfilment in the future.
Group learning format
The program delivers 26 CPD hours of leadership education facilitated by our leadership expert Dr Anna Clark.
The program is modular in design and is delivered in a small group format over several sessions via interactive face-to-face workshops, webinars/online tutorials, peer learning pairs, one-on-one coaching, and self-paced on-line learning, including video tutorials, readings, and reflective learning activities. The program provides 26 hours of leadership education facilitated by our leadership expert Dr Anna Clark.
The duration of the program ranges from 4 – 8 weeks depending on the intake.
Program structure:
-
1:1 Program launch meeting (15-30 minutes) with program facilitator
-
4 x 3 hour modules – delivered over 2 x 1-day workshops (9.30am - 4:30pm) delivered in-person at AMA House in Parkville, VIC
-
1 x 1 hour one-on-one coaching session delivered online via Zoom at a time the suits each participants schedule
Participants work on a personal leadership mission statement and three personal action plans across the duration of the program: a personal leadership development plan, a holistic leadership plan, and a professional network health check. These plans support the direct application of learning into specific leadership skills and behaviours
We would encourage 100% attendance at all module sessions to maximise your learning; however, we realise this may not be possible for all of you due to work/personal commitments. Subsequently, we would accept 75% attendance to receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program. If you know this may be a problem, please advise and we can explore other options for you. Webinars will be recorded, and you can catch up on a missed session if required.
