The resume you developed for your internship application process was fit for that purpose. It was a ‘final year student’ resume, not a ‘doctor’s’ resume. The template format was a bit clunky and omits some sections that we would expect to begin seeing in a ‘doctor's’ resume. There are also parts of it that are most likely not relevant to ‘you’ anymore and can be deleted.
To help you refresh your resume, watch our ‘Stand out! Resume writing for interns’ webinar’ below.
The webinar answers all the common questions interns ask when attempting to update their resume. It then addresses the specific sections we encourage interns to update or add into their ‘doctor’ resume in preparation for HMO2 applications.
Once you have attended this and updated your resume, we then encourage you to book a ‘resume check-up’ in which a member of our team we will review your resume with you.
If you need help developing content for sections of the resume, book a 1:1 ’30 minute resume coaching consult’. In this session, your coach works with you to develop content for the sections of your resume you are stuck on. There is a fee for this service, but it can be very helpful for some doctors who struggle with developing content about themselves!
