Image-based prescribing arrangements to cease 31 March 2022
PBS funding for the former, image-based prescribing, will cease for private practices on 31 March 2022. The Commonwealth Department of Health has announced that such funding will be extended for hospitals only until 31 March 2023.

Changes to Schedule 8 permit requirements for Schedule 8 medicinal cannabis
The Department of Health has advised from 28 February 2022, Schedule 8 permits for Schedule 8 medicinal cannabis will not be required for non-drug dependent patients. Prescribers are still required to check SafeScript each time before prescribing any Schedule 8 medicinal cannabis products.
