Reminder: Use of SafeScript is mandatory under Victorian Law

After five years of SafeScript operation and three years of mandatory checks, health practitioners in Victoria must ensure rigorous compliance with SafeScript. Neglecting checks can lead to disciplinary actions, emphasising the need for due diligence.

At this stage, the best strategy for doctors is to understand the nuances of the SRO’s guidance and build up your defences by ensuring your agreements and structures possess the least amount of risk of a payroll tax liability.

Paid family and domestic violence leave

In 2023 the Fair Work Act 2009 will be amended to replace the current entitlement in the National Employment Standards of five days of unpaid family and domestic violence leave in a 12-month period with an entitlement to ten days of paid leave for full-time, part-time and casual employees.
